We fought a battle last week. It continues, but we’re winning now. Few know about it, and many of those who do have little idea of what it really entailed. We wanted a way to share what happened with family and friends, partly to explain in advance why Andrew is now walking with a cane or why his…

The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.

Where did the Night Go - By Gil Scott-Heron

allicette:

Long ago the clock washed midnight away
Bringing the dawn (Bringing the dawn, Bringing the dawn)
Oh God, I must be dreaming
Time to get up again
And time to start up again
Pulling on my socks now

Where did the night go?

Should have been asleep
When I was sitting there drinking beer
And trying to start another letter to you
Don’t know how many times I didn’t write again, last night
Should’ve been asleep when I turned the stack of records over and over so I wouldn’t be up by myself

Where did the night go?

Should go to sleep now And say fuck a job and money because I spend it all on unlined paper and can’t get past “Dear baby, how are you?”

Brush my teeth and shave
Look outside,
sky is dark
Think it may rain

Where did
Where did
Where did

A new vending machine has been released which can print any book within minutes.

The Espresso Book Machine has access to 500,000 different books - the same as 23.6 miles of shelf space - and can even churn out a fresh copy of Crime and Punishment in just nine minutes.

Pages are printed at a rate of over 100 per minute and are then pressed, glued and cut to produce a pristine book.

Users simply pick the book they would like on a screen and wait for it to be printed … it certainly is a novel way of getting a new book.

OMFG, I want this…

omg I need this right now, right in the corner of my room

Flip to the yeah! This is amazing; when I read it, my jaw actually dropped for the first time ever.
